Summary

Active Self Protection exists to help good, sane, sober, moral, prudent people in all walks of life to more effectively protect themselves and their loved ones from criminal violence. On the ASP Podcast you will hear the true stories of life or death self defense encounters from the men and women that lived them. If you are interested in the Second Amendment, self defense and defensive firearms use, martial arts or the use of less lethal tools used in the real world to defend life and family, you will find this show riveting.  Join host and career federal agent Mike Willever and the rest of the ASP staff as they talk to real life survivors and hear their stories in depth. You'll hear about these incidents and the self defenders from well before the encounter occurred on through the legal and emotional aftermath. In this first episode of the Active Self Protection Podcast we sit down with ASP founder and owner John Correia. We discuss a wide variety of topics including Johns past jobs, how ASP was started and the comments section.

Mantis has been a huge, long-time supporter of active cell protection.

Man, I am so excited to launch the Active Self Protection podcast and so excited for you, Mike, to be the one leading away. Yeah, it's exciting. I'm just had the first few times I was on camera on the main channel, and I am loving the comment section, but we'll talk about that later. Yeah, I'm a cardboard cut out, apparently. That's neither here and there. John, my first question is this. What did you want to be when you grew up?

What did you want to be when you grew up?

1:30.4

Oh, man, I think it depends on what time you're asking.

I went to the University of California at Davis as the first college that I ever went to. And the reason that I went to UC Davis is because I wanted to be a veterinarian. But that dream died on the altar of I had no money. And so, yeah, that was what I wanted to be when I grew up, was a veterinarian. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up now. Yeah, it's weird. As you know, I just retired, so I'm on this weird spot right now. I feel like

like work. Yeah, jobs are for suckers. Absolutely. Talk to me about Jesus. When did you meet him? Well, so I didn't grow up in a Christian home. Anybody who's watched the channel knows that I talk about Jesus when we talk about spiritual fitness. I didn't grow up in a Christian home. I grew up in a very
