Okay, so we get started here in just a moment.

We'll be starting in Gospel According to Satan John, Chapter 3, verse 18, where we left off last time.

As I usually say, by the time someone is hearing this recording, at least,

the first Bible study of the Gospel of John will be posted on the Internet if you want to go back and hear my introduction to the book.

But for now,

it's sort of gets caught up back where we were

because we ended up leaving off

sort of in the midst of a story.

And as we've said a couple times already,

St. John's Gospel,

the three synoptic gospels, St. Matthews, St. Marks, and St. Luke's, tend to be very oriented

toward action. There's sort of a through line. You know, Christ is taking this journey to Jerusalem

to suffer and die and rise again. And so it's sort of propelled forward along that trajectory, whereas in St. John's

gospel, he sort of takes his time. We talked about how it's set up actually over three trips to

Jerusalem. And so we get these chapters where there will just be long conversations between Jesus and other people.

These stories that are allowed to sort of breathe a little bit, where John will go a little

deeper, theologically, and that kind of thing, rather than just narrating the events.

So kind of dwell with it and interpret it a little bit more than maybe the other three
