To be able to touch an audience in such a way with a song, a book, a painting, or a movie

is a momentous occasion, especially when that audience is eager to keep coming back for more and more and more.

In 1978, a little movie originally working under the title of the babysitter murders went into

production to be ready for a release around Halloween. But the producer thought he had a better title,

and that producer Mustafa Akad proved to be right.

Halloween opened up an entirely new direction in cinematic horror, and its influence has never

lessened to this very day.

I've lost count of the various sequels to Halloween, but up until last year at this time,
