It takes something truly special and groundbreaking

to become iconic in popular culture.

To be able to touch an audience in such a way with a song,

a book, a painting, or a movie is a momentous occasion,

especially when that audience is eager to keep coming back

for more and more and more.

In 1978, a little movie originally working under the title

of the babysitter murders went into production

to be ready for a release around Halloween.

But the producers thought he had a better title

than that producer Mustafa Akad proved to be right.

Halloween opened up an entirely new direction in cinematic horror

and its influence has never lessened to this very day.
