I grew up with frosted flakes and corn pops, except then it was called sugar pops.

A word you would never use in today's marketing.

And I still remember the TV jingle. Sugar Pops, R, Tops, sophisticated time.

And now I'm into Raisin Brand Crunch and Honey Checks.

But given that we've created this whole artificial intelligence industry,

and given that you can walk around with a watch that enables you to get phone calls

and that your entire record collection in the days of vinyl, now you can get it all online

and not take up all the space in your living room, how is it that cereal boxes are made the same way that they were 60 years ago?

Which is, after you open them and you try to get the tab under the flap, and invariably it pops open

and it doesn't hold it, like, how is this, this is not improved?

I don't get it.

So as we head into the weekend on this Friday, let us begin with the story number one.

Got to be the John Bolton indictment.

Bolton, who was, of course, National Security Advisor in the first Trump term.

To call him a hawk doesn't quite do him justice.

I think I've mentioned in the past that I used to live sort of a block away from Bolton or across the street and also got to know him when he was a Fox News contributor before he joined the

first Trump administration. And then, of course, he was pushed out of the first Trump

administration. And now comes the indictment because Trump has been bad-mouthing him.

And I think this isn't a little bit of a different category than the Letitia James

indictment and the James Comey indictment in that it may well be that Bolton inadvertently or otherwise
