What can you do with philosophy?

So what can you do with philosophy?

Well, I have to say it doesn't strike me as an unusual question at all. It's a question that's absolutely

central to my working life. Philosophy seems to me to be the name of a whole set of intellectual resources.

And the issue is really when do those resources become helpful to important? When I'm thinking about for example what should the

educational ambitions of a university be here's when I really really need

philosophy there are all sorts of competing views I was trying to Here's when I really, really need philosophy.

but above all trying to define some of the central conceptions.
