All righty, we continue our study in John's Gospel, we're in John Chapter 10.

Here's the big question, ready? A little Bible trivia, you ready?

Of all the animals in the Bible, if you had to pick one that you would guess,

that would be mentioned most frequently, which animal might it be?

The lamb, the sheep, the sheep. About 400 times the Bible talks about lamb or sheep. How many of you?

You live in the city, you don't know what a sheep is, other than glue and cotton balls to a

piece of construction paper as a kid. That's about as close as you've ever been to a sheep.

Well, the Bible uses this language of sheep a lot, about 400 times. And when it does so,

it is trying to give us a picture and a portrait of our relationship with God. Let me tell you a

little bit about sheep. Are they smart? No, they're not smart. They're not smart.

Are they fierce, tough? No, they're in fact the least fierce thing we can think of.

If your child is awake in the middle and you're like, it's okay, count sheep.

There's nothing more soothing than just sheep, right? Right now, if we heard a truck overturned

out front and there are wild animals on the loose, you would lock the doors. And then if you heard

they were sheep, people were like, oh, let's go see them. Right? Because there's nothing more

soothing and calming than a sheep because a sheep is a pacifist vegetarian. It is. It's a pacifist.

It doesn't harm anything or anyone. And it's a vegetarian. It just eats vegetables or whatever I

can find grass. And also, it was kind of free range. They just wander around and then just eat
