I'm your host Finn Melanson, and in this episode, I am talking with Joey Barry Atua,

a pro-runner based out of Boulder, Colorado, who spent many years in the famous Tin Man elite training group

on the road and track scenes before splitting off earlier this year to pursue other options.

Joey is the author of a great substack called 357, where he offers insights into his

journey in the sport post-tinman and his general takes on the business side of pro running.

I followed Joey for a while, but my interest in having him on the pod was certainly

piqued when he announced recently that he'd be dabbling more in the trail scene soon.

That was enough of an excuse for me to reach

out. In this one, though, I admit I get carried away and we barely talk at all about trail news.

Instead, it's more so a post-mortem on the original 10-man elite team, his thoughts on evolving as a

pro athlete in the sport, and some media talk before we briefly touch on the trail stuff at the end.

Honestly, though, we both had about 90 minutes to chat and just sort of lost track of time.
