Joel David Rifkin was born on January 20th, 1959 in New York City. So as we always do, let's get

into some history for that time. New York City in the 50s and 60s were an interesting time. It was considered a golden age for entertainment.

The Dodgers were still in Brooklyn and the Giants were still uptown. The Garden was already a popular attraction and Times Square was actually filled with native New Yorkers rather than the droves of tourists.

There was a boom in construction and everything was moving vertical.

The area where the United Nations is, once was the Slaughterhouse District.
