When I was a young man, younger man, my first major talk show that I got to appear on was David Letterman.

Never forget it. It's terrifying too. But I told him a story about a thing that had just happened to me.

I had planned on telling this story and I thought it would go by, you know, 30 seconds a minute.

My entire segment was taken up telling it because I get getting sidetracked kind of like I'm doing now.

I haven't really learned, I guess, but it was a story about a car of mine that was being transported on a flatbed truck and the truck outstuck on train tracks in

Inman's, South Carolina, and a train game that came through and demolished the car.

And I was still paying payments on the car.

Do you remember that car? That old meata.

Anyway, he was very nice to me and like helped me along with the story. Kind of like what you're not doing now.

So the point of the story is that you used to be long-winded and you couldn't get stories out.

Yeah, I guess so.

So what's the lesson?

Well, here's the lesson. Keep on keeping on.
