Boy, Kalat, they have had, you all have had two good games, man.

Those two games have come down to the final possession, final horn there on the big noon kick.

And I know you've enjoyed them both.

That was another good one, Sunday, Saturday.

Yeah, it really was.

And Ames is, that's a unique place, guys.

It's very college football, you know, and there's no pro sports there.

Everybody has to either be a sock, a hawk eye or a cyclone.

You got to choose one, man.

You can't be a sock eye.

There's no doubt.

And so it's such a fun environment.

And both of those teams, you know, they're so unique in the way that they have to win.

You know, there's not a great recruiting pipeline to those schools. And so they have to develop.

There's going to be walk-ons on the field. There's going to be under-recruited guys on the field.

It might not be the best skill in college football, you know, out on the edge, but they find a way to

make it work and good special teams. Really good coaches, both of them. I knew it would come down to a close game, and that's why even before, I always hesitate to like make picks or anything in the games I'm calling, but in my mind, I'm like, man, one of these teams has Rocco Becked and the other one doesn't, and he's a guy that I think is one of the better quarterbacks in the country, to be honest with you. I think he does probably more with less than maybe anybody else. And when he jogged on to the field with about eight minutes left in a tie game, I'm just like, this is exactly what they wanted. So it was a really fun day. And then I would just expand on that a little bit, and I did this

on my program that you can go check out today. The idea of this 12-team playoff and what it

meant for a game like Saturday, you know, prior to the 12-team playoffs, Saturday would have

just been like a cute Iowa regional game. And now it's like, okay, I understand it's not a league game, so it doesn't directly

affect what Iowa State is going to do the rest of the year. But you can start to see, like,

that team is good enough to access the playoff through the direct Big 12 championship,
