I'm doing something special today on the Jesus Over Everything show. This is season nine, and more specifically, the God knows season of the podcast. I'm calling it that for a reason because for the past five years, I have been studying the omniscience of God and my new book, God knows, is releasing in April. You can pre-order it now, but I'm giving you a special exclusive preview

0:22.2

today by reading the introduction of the book. Super exclusive to my Joe listeners, if you want to know

0:28.1

what the book is all about, but more importantly, why the omniscience of God is so crucial to your

0:34.8

worries and wise. Today's show is for you. As always, I'm your host, Lisa Whittle.

0:40.3

And if you're new here, welcome. If you've been around, you know how this goes. Jesus,

0:44.8

honesty, and straight talk. Let's go.

1:00.6

I told someone the other day, in studying the omniscience of God for the better part of five years,

1:12.3

though I have certainly learned a lot, it's not that I understand it more now as I don't believe any attribute of God can truly ever be fully understood, but rather my studying has helped me become completely convinced that the omniscience of God is the only thing

1:23.9

And so if you're wondering how studying about the omniscience of God can help you with your

1:28.8

everyday questions and worries, I want you to listen to the introduction of the book and draw your

1:34.8

own conclusions. This is from the introduction of my new book, God knows. In a sea of book

1:41.8

options and with the looming stack of to be read books on your bedside table,

1:47.0

I can think of three reasons you might have felt compelled to pick up. God knows.

1:52.1

Number one, you're in pain and want relief. Number two, you're afraid and want reassurance.

1:59.3

Number three, you're desperate for hope, and at this point, aren't picky

2:03.0

about how you get it. In each of these instances, you must believe on some level that God can

2:07.8

provide those things for you because you've been drawn to the idea that he knows what's

2:12.4

happening in the world and in your world. Good news. You aren't wrong. God does know. Besides the proof through

2:20.8

otherwise impossible timing, acts of providence, and what people like to call God winks, we have

2:27.2

proof from many places in the Bible. I particularly love how the NIV version of the Bible says

2:33.0

it in 1st John 320. So simply, God is
