Toxic means every time I take a drink or every time I stand in this room, every time I'm in contact with this person, I am exposing myself to poison.

It is still in the person in the situation. No excavation has been done. Right. Every time I drink from this well, I am poisoning myself and hurting myself. That's toxic. But if there was poison in the well, and the person has since done a 180, apologize, tried to dig repeat guest on the Jesus Over Everything show.

How do you feel about being invited back somewhere? Do you feel pressure to be great, or do you feel just really honored to be asked back?

How do you feel? You know what? I love coming back because now there's already rapport.

We know each other, you know? So I'm sitting down with an old friend. I love that feeling.

I'm the same way. I'm always like, I feel like the first time there's pressure. Second time,

well, you like me enough to ask me back. Right. Yeah. Yeah, that's exactly the case. Well,

if someone didn't hear you the last time you're on, I'm just going to give a little bit of

background. You're a communication professor and an author, of course, your husband is a pastor. I don't think I knew that. How do you

feel about the pastor's wife gig? You know what? So he is no longer pastoring. Yes, actually,

he's transitioned into counseling. He's doing school counseling right now. I actually enjoy that.

Much better than the pastor's wife gig.

Man, more our prayers should not just be going to the pastors, but their families as well,

because it's a very difficult position and an honoring position, of course, to have too, but it's

difficult on a family. Yeah. So when you were a pastor's wife, what was that like for you? Because you are speaking into a space that, well, we have a lot of listeners that are pastor's wives, pastors, families. What was that like for you? How did you navigate that? And maybe what did you wish people knew?

I think people, especially if you have a pastor who leads well, and what I mean by that,

is not necessarily talking about all the complications that they're experiencing because

they don't feel like it's relevant as they try to encourage you. What I would say to somebody

on their behalf, because they won't, is that there's lots of complications that they're

experiencing.

And especially in my situation, because I have a public ministry, I feel like it was almost

more difficult probably for my husband than for me because he would get letters to his church
