Yay, you're here. I'm Lisa Whittle, and welcome to Jesus Over Everything, affectionately known as Joe, a short practical podcast where we will not be perfect, we will be honest, and we'll talk a lot about Jesus along the way.

0:18.6

Bonus pod today, because we need to talk about Lent. But really, it's not

0:23.4

necessarily about Lent. It's about something I was already planning since last year to do with

0:28.2

this community. And Lent felt like the right time to do it. So many of you that have read

0:33.4

Jesus over everything and my story about my one year shopping fast have emailed me and

0:38.2

DMed me about your own struggle with shopping and you've asked me for help. So if you have

0:43.4

found yourself needing to fast from consumerism, you have needed some help not pressing add to cart

0:49.6

so much. Let's go because I've got something really important for you.

1:29.9

You may know that we've been doing a house reno. And I found myself in this very weird place of looking

1:37.1

1:46.3

I had gone to this place where I'd come to rely upon seeing the delivery truck and the boxes on my porch, and I'm here to testify, yes,

1:53.1

you can get addicted to Amazon deliveries. We know deep down when shopping has gone too far.

1:59.9

We know when it's become a deflection. We might

2:04.1

even be able to technically afford something, but if we use it to numb or escape, it's still

2:10.3

not helping us at all. So if you are in that place and you're ready to break that habit, maybe

2:16.9

you will want to join me in a six-week

2:19.0

shopping fast that I'm starting on the start of Lent this year on Wednesday, February 17th.
