affectionately known as Joe's Friday friend, where everyone I sit down and talk with is either an old or a new friend of mine.

This conversation is about to knock your socks off, and I don't think I've ever said that before.

J.D. Greer, pastor, Southern Baptist Convention president, and author of a great new book,

What Are You Going to Do with Your Life, is my guest today, and we had a conversation that left me

wishing for about two more hours to talk. I secretly think he's my brother from another mother.

We share many of the same convictions about things.

And also, we're both spirited.

So I thought at any time we might just have a lively disagreement as well, which would

have been fine with us, it made for an incredible conversation.

We talk purpose to getting on with it, to North Carolina basketball, to pastors enduring in this climate.

We truly covered some ground.

First things first, high from down the road in North Carolina, I'm not that far from you. I actually am in Charlotte.

Oh, wow. Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Are you from the Carolinas, or did you just plant here?

I grew up here. I was born in West Virginia, but I grew up in Winston, Asylum. So between,

between Charlotte and here. My dad used to pastor a church in Clemens.

Oh, yeah.

I lived in Yackinville, where we moved from Winston to Yacquiville.

So I jumped right over top of you.

What was the name of the church?

It might have even been like First Baptist Clemens.
