affectionately known as Joe's Friend Friday, where everyone I sit down and talk with is either

an old or a new friend of mine. It's our very first season four friend Friday interview show,

and we're starting off with a bang. Sam Collier, a new friend for me, is sitting down to talk

with me about a lot of things, why he's responsible for some of my tears, true story, his view of

being a black man and the wise and seasoned perspective he brings to the church about race and why we have all the

reason in the world to hope for a good future despite the crazy of this world. Sam is a lot of

things, a pastor, speaker, TV, and podcast host, an author of new book, A Greater Story. Listen,

I had 10 more things I wanted to talk to Sam about, but the conversation

was so good and so fluid. We went in the direction the Holy Spirit wanted, and just let it go there.

All right, Sam, we've got to talk about the ATL for a minute. Come on. My dad used to pastor the Baptist

Tabernacle in the 70s, which I think that's now a nightclub called

the tabernacle. Am I right? Is it a nightclub? Oh my gosh. He used to pastor the tabernacle.

I'm not kidding you. Can you believe that? Okay, isn't a nightclub now? Am I right? So it looks like a nightclub,

but it's technically one of the biggest concert venues in Atlanta. And so when people come through

there, you know, I think it's a 5,000 cedar maybe. You've been there. I mean, you probably grew up there

going to church. I don't even remember it. was like I was like little it was 70s yeah but it's

massive me everybody wants to kind of when they come in town they do a show there it's I mean

it's Kirk Franklin yeah you know probably Natalie Grant you know what I mean it's it's the venue

of all venues what I do remember is I have
