bold, tattooed Texas girl is in so many ways my kindred. She and I have only met briefly in person,

but she's someone I liked from the very start. Casey Van Norman has written a Jesus-filled

narrative of hope, healing, and tell it like it is truth. In her new book, Nothing Wasted. I read this

book and I loved it. I so appreciated Casey not couching her own story of compromise and sin so we could feel less alone in ours.

This Bible teacher, counselor, wife, and mom is a precious woman who deeply loves Jesus.

You'll hear that as we talk and I am so grateful to hear from her today on Joe.

Okay, so many things, Casey. First of all, hi. Hello. Hey, girl, hey. Well, what the, what the people

need to know is that we have been trying to interview for like two hours now,

but we have had technology issues. And you're now sitting in your car somewhere. Yeah. Yeah,

I feel like we just jumped on the struggle bus together today. We have. But this is good. This is what, this is podcasting, man. We just, we just kind of go with

it and I feel like it's appropriate for maybe who you and I both are in the conversation we're

going to have. And this is fun. This is, this is good. This is real life tough. Okay. So second,

I have to say, we got to get some Texas stuff out of the way. I spent some of my childhood in Lake Jackson, Texas. Do you know where that is by chance? Yeah. Yeah. So some of your childhood. Tell me about that. Oh, well, no. I mean, it's not even worth going into. I've moved all over the United States. My dad was a restless pastor,

so we moved like a lot of different places. But Lake Jackson, we were, I think we did like a two-year

stint there. But do you know, I loved it so much. It was like one of the most meaningful stops on

my journey. But we went to Galveston. So when you like post a picture of Galveston, that brought me back. And I got to tell you this, my best friend used to live in Nacadoches, Texas.

Stop it. The oldest town in Texas, right? Yeah. You know, that's where I grew up. Well, that's why. And so I saw something about Nacadochus. I was like, yes. All this Texas stuff is just, I'm crazy about it.

Really connected.
