0:41.8	which is another layer of wounding, I think. I want to share with you what I feel is the most
0:46.7	important when someone comes to you and shares with you that the church hasn't responded well
0:51.4	to a crisis or pain or, God forbid, tried to cover for sins inside its
0:56.4	walls. Important stuff, healing stuff, I believe, going down on the show today right now.
1:08.7	I got a message recently from a friend, a fellow leader in another state, who said she was
1:13.5	noticing how the church doesn't always respond well to people in crisis, particularly women.
1:18.8	First of all, I want to say this is not a church bashing show in any way because anyone who
1:25.2	knows me knows I love the church deeply.
1:30.0	My heart is here to stay. I have done work and planted deep inside instead of running away because I believe in the church so much.
1:37.3	At the same time, I don't live with a need to pretend that the church is perfect because we're not.
1:42.2	And I include me in that because I'm a part of
1:44.6	what makes the church not perfect. And I also feel, as many of you know, that a major part of my
1:50.1	call in life is to uphold truth above all else and pour into other leaders to get well and lead
1:56.3	well. And that includes leading out in conversations that are honest.
