Hi, and welcome to Jesus Over Everything, a five-day-a-week variety show that mixes encouragement,

the Bible, practical how-toes, and fantastic guests for the listener on the go. I'm Lisa Whittle,

and I welcome you to just five minutes with me, which I trust and pray will be five minutes

well spent. I was just recently with a friend who, by the way, is coming on the show very soon,

so be excited.

She has an amazing past of rescue by Jesus, but she was telling me about how she met and accepted Jesus simply by reading her Bible. Not by someone telling her about him. It was interesting

because God uses us to tell others about him, obviously, and it's a powerful chain in the

kingdom. But on the

flip side, sometimes we hurt the reputation of God by how we act when people know we're associated

with him. It's not that we should walk on eggshells around people. We'll never be perfect. But I want to

talk today on the Friday 5 about five ways not to mess up Jesus for other people, because I know that's none of our

intent, but sometimes I think it's what we do. You ready to dive in? Let's go.

All right, friends, we love Jesus. We don't want to mess up our witness of him.

So what do we do?

I have a few thoughts, so here they are.

Number one, we don't try to be perfect.

Let's get this one settled and perfection off the table right now, okay?

We can't be perfect, of course, but trying to be perfect will only result in one thing.

Us looking fake. We're never going to pull it off and people will only result in one thing. Us looking fake.

We're never going to pull it off and people will be turned off by it.

Our lack of perfection takes nothing away from Jesus.

In fact, shows off the perfection in Him.
