You might know today's guest from her speaking with Proverbs 31 Ministries, her writing for the wildly popular Bible

is a wife and mom to four boys, so she's busy outside of these roles with lots of other ones, too.

I've known and been fond of Whitney for a long time. We go pretty far back, and she's darling and delightful, but more than that, she loves Jesus.

And you'll hear the passion by which she talks about him and know that in the few minutes she spends on here.

Well, one of the things that I think is such a gift that we find in Christian community is that

women genuinely want to connect with one another.

And we want to know each other deeply and richly.

And when I would travel and speak with different churches, the number one thing that

women would come up and tell me at the end of my time was that they felt like I was really real

and they were just so grateful that I was so authentic, which I think is such a kind, kind compliment.

What I hope they meant by that was that they really got the sense that

who I am in the 45 minutes that we hang out is really the same person, you know, that has on

yoga pants and yesterday's makeup to go get my kids. And so I took a lot of comfort in that,

and I consider it a high and holy compliment. But I thought about it a lot. And I was like,

you know, I really think it's interesting that this is the thing I hear more often than not. But yet I don't

know if it's a spiritual gifting. Is it a fruit of the spirit? How should I think about this quality

that people see in me? And so I went to God's word just to try and understand really what is the

spiritual premium, the gospel premium on us being authentic and real and transparent. And really,
