0:45.6	Rogan is the biggest podcaster on Earth. In 2020, Spotify signed a hundred
0:50.9	million dollar deal to exclusively release the Joe Rogan
0:54.0	podcast on its platform. This month Spotify's employees raised hell about
0:59.0	Rogan's content first citing examples of misinformation about COVID and vaccines, then citing examples of racial slurs.
1:06.7	As internet activists grew more and more incensed with Rogans allegedly dangerous and calloused antics, singer-songwriter Neil Young threatened to pull all of his music off of Spotify if it didn't jettison Joe Rogan from the platform.
1:20.0	I don't actually know who Neil Young is. I assume he's the guy Leonard Skinner is making fun of in Sweet Home Alabama.
1:28.0	In any case, Neil Young gave them an ultimatum. It's either Neil Young or Joe Rogan. Make your choice.
1:35.0	As this typhoon of cancel culture continued to stir, a video on YouTube began to
1:41.0	circulate of instances in which Joe Rogan has said the inward on his show
1:45.6	several times. The chief executive of Spotify said that while Rogan's words were hurtful,
1:51.7	he didn't believe silencing him was the answer.
1:54.0	Instead, Spotify pledged to spend $100 million promoting marginalized voices.
1:59.0	But at the same time, Spotify yanked a whopping 100-plus episodes of the Joe Rogan experience from its platform.
2:06.7	In response, angered listeners have flooded Spotify's subscription cancellation page tumbling the company's stock, all of which raises some big questions
