When I saw the foot fistway at the Sundance Film Festival, now three years ago,

I thought I was seeing the beginning of a whole new wave of comedy. Well, it's director and

co-writer, Jody Hill, is here. And not only he's responsible for that film, but a great new series

on HBO, Eastbound and Down, which, by the way, has nothing to do with Bert Reynolds.

Jody, thanks so much for being here.

First of all, so all the audience, what the show is about.

He's Bowen Down is about this guy named Kenny Powers, played by Danny McBride, who was also

in the foot-fist way.

And he basically plays a, he's a major league relief pitcher who um started out huge winning the world series at a

young age and quickly flamed out i mean it's kind of like a mix of all the worst stuff that can

happen to a celebrity there's steroids drugs you know uh i always thought you would combine

mark fiddrick and John Rocker. Right.

And Barry Bonds, you would get Kenny Powers.

That's basically, yeah, you know, it's so funny because, uh, Danny and Ben Bess, the other creators,

we literally know nothing about baseball.

We don't watch sports or anything.

It's true.
