Welcome to a live Q&A for Hurry Slowly about tender discipline. If you're not already familiar

with that phrase, tender discipline, I know many of you are, I first talked about it in episode of season two of

Hurry Slowly, which was called Who Are You Without the Doing? And for those of you who haven't heard

me talk about it before, it's sort of the concept that this Q&A is organized around. So I want to

speak just for a few minutes to introduce you to the concept.

And it's really this idea of being disciplined about doing the work, whatever your work is in

this moment. It could be your little job. It could be personal or spiritual work. It could be

social justice work. It could be relationship work. It could be social justice work.

It could be relationship work.

It could be a creative project.

Whatever the work is.

It's about doing that work in a disciplined but gentle way.

We think of discipline as coming from the outside, but really it comes from the inside.

It's something that we do to ourselves or hopefully with ourselves.

Once we're adults, our parents don't discipline us anymore.

We discipline ourselves.
