| 0:57.6 | expectations by economists that predicted a gain of only 60,000 jobs, so almost three times |

| 1:05.6 | That means the unemployment rate declined slightly to 4.3% rather than 4.4% that was projected. It's also a welcome rebound |
| 1:14.2 | since March's labor market was unexpectedly weaker. Revision's were made to the payroll numbers |
| 1:20.5 | for the prior two months, with January's report revised up by 34,000 jobs, and February's report revised down by 41,000 jobs, but taken together, |
| 1:30.8 | unemployment in January and February was 7,000 jobs lower than previously reported. |
| 1:35.9 | What sectors added the most jobs in March? Well, private payrolls grew by 186,000 jobs, |
| 1:42.8 | and government payrolls contracted by 8,000 jobs in March. |
| 1:46.7 | Job losses by the federal government, which were down 18,000, and state governments down 4,000 |
| 1:52.3 | were partially offset by local governments adding jobs up 14,000. |
| 1:57.1 | The manufacturing sector added 15,000 jobs in March, and health care employment grew by 76,400 jobs in March. |
