Welcome in to the Wednesday Bible study. My name is Rick Burgess, and if this is your first time with us,

we are working through the book of Job. So if you want to go ahead and turn where we're going to be today,

we're going to be in Job chapter 4. So in Job chapter 4, things are going to change because now Job's friends that have arrived with him

are now going to start speaking into his life. So we'll jump into that today. But let's open up with a word of

prayer. Lord, thank you for today. I pray, Lord, that you will be glorified, that you will help us to glean from your

Holy Scripture is everything that you intend today, Lord. As we read this very ancient book,

we're also reminded that, as Solomon told us, there's really nothing new under the sun.

A lot of the same things we're going to see today

are as alive and well today as they were then. So I pray, Lord, that you help us to deal with it

in a way that is pleasing to you and to see ourselves, not just as Job. That's the part that we tend

to do, but to also see ourselves as his friends. In your name we pray, amen.
