Summary

0:14.0	Last episode in chapter one, we glimpsed a small snapshot of the life of Job. He is devout. In fact, God said he was blameless. He has a loving
0:23.6	family and all the wealth that the world could offer. He's a leader in his house and his community
0:28.1	and has wide-reaching status. Then the story dramatically shifts in a totally different way.
0:35.2	God was holding court and Satan, the accuser, presented a case.
0:39.5	Satan insists that he can prove that God's followers are only faithful for what they get from God.
0:45.1	Well, God gives Satan permission to test this theory out on Job and off he went.
0:49.1	And we ended our last episode in chapter 1, verse 12, which said this.
0:53.6	The Lord said to Satan, very well then,
0:56.0	everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger. Then Satan went
1:01.4	out from the presence of the Lord. So in this next scene, Satan will take full advantage of God's

1:14.0	attacks to silence Satan's accusation and prove that a man could be faithful even if he lost everything.

1:30.7	feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother's house, a messenger came to Job and said,
1:35.5	the oxen were plowing and the donkeys were grazing nearby and the seabins attacked and made
1:40.9	off with them. They put the servants to the sword and I am the only one who's
1:45.1	escaped to tell you. While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, the fire of God
1:50.7	fell from the heavens and burned up the sheep and the servants, and I'm the only one who escaped
1:55.0	to tell you. While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, the Chaldeans formed three raiding parties and
2:02.9	swept down on your camels and made off with them. They put the servants to the sword and I am the only one
