And I just want to start out by saying, Dane, that this was the most fun that I have had covering a preseason game.

In fact, a lot of times it was really kind of a drag.

And yet this one we got to see everything on display that everybody wanted to see from J.J McCarthy, but also some other

standout performances as well, including Dallas Turner, Jay Lenayler, we talked to the head coach about those guys as well.

And so there is a lot to get into.

but we have to start out in the most obvious place here which is will

give your overall reaction to how j j j j j k karthi look to you and then we can all talk about it together. Go ahead.

I think right now, whatever it is, is it August 10th, 2024? This is the day that J.J. McCarthy proved it's possible.

Like, is he going to turn into a franchise quarterback that the Vikings hope he can be?

We don't know. The jury is still out, but today proved that the tools are there.

And I think that's very important. Like you look at sometimes rookie

quarterbacks, they come into the NFL. It's, I don't know, maybe they can get there. There's no doubt about it after watching

J. J. McCarthy today. And I think the progression from the spring into the summer is important.

Obviously in the spring, a little inaccurate, reworking his fundamentals. the summer is important

reworking as fundamentals summer you see that improvement but then to see it all

come together today the arm strengths there you know the ability to maneuver in the pocket, it's there.

He can rip a deep ball downfield.
