And I would be remiss if I didn't start the show with a shout out to my brother Mike,

Uncle Mikey, Lincoln's Uncle Mikey, just retired from the police force after 25 years behind the badge.

I mean, you could clap, but I don't know that he's going to hear it.

He's probably falling off a barstool in Tennessee somewhere.

But my brother Mike, who was, of course, a city cop for the first

half of his police career, ultimately made his way out to Long Island and was a cop in one of the

villages there. And on the very, very summer, and like the very week when I started showbiz,

like stand-up comedy handing out flyers in time square he had just gotten on to the

nypd and his precinct was here in midtown north and midtown south he started out in the south he wound up

in the north but in the process i was handing out comedy flyers you know every night trying to get on

stage and tell jokes to boozed up tourists in time square and we would hang out until he got off work. You know, he worked 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. So assuming he didn't have overtime, he'd get off work at 4 a.m. So I'd come walking out of the bar. We'd jump in my old Nissan Marano, which was new at the time. And me, him, and a couple of cops would make our way back to Long Island. And I am proud to say that most of the nights I drove them home, I stayed awake.

Not every night, you know, it's a long season.

Nobody goes undefeated.

But Uncle Mikey, surviving not just 25 years of dedicated police work to this great nation, but at least that many drives

home with me.
