NBC Sports Paul Vermeister. We are going to go over all of the wild card games, some of the news in the league,

and then look forward to the divisional round

this coming weekend.

And then I'm going to play about a 9 to 10 minute conversation I had with Jimmy Garopolo,

the 49ers quarterback after San Francisco went into Dallas and won that game.

Crazy game. We'll talk a little bit about it but I think from the conversation

you're going to understand that rather than, and again, look, this might be a little bit too

empathetic, but rather than attack Jimmy Garopolo for throwing a stupid interception late in the game.

I think I have more a feeling of empathy for him because he's had to change his entire throwing motion and how he grips the

football and things like that because he has a torn ligament in his thumb.

I definitely want to get that, get some thoughts from Paul Burmister on that, him

being a former Big Ten quarterback. So Paul, let's start out though by kind of diving into the Monday night game, which is what is on most people's minds as we record this on Tuesday.

I was fascinated in almost a, I don't even mean to say, I didn't know this sounds terrible almost in a car crash way

Watching the end of this season for the Arizona Cardinals I mean they start 10 and 2 and man did it get ugly from there they're one in five I guess since then

including the playoff loss what I would call and after the game

Kyler Murray said it.

He said, you know, it just really, really bothers you,

and I'm paraphrasing him to be non-competitive.

And that's what the Cardinals were.
