Newsom pledged to ban these types of videos after Elon Musk published a clearly satirical artificial intelligence-generated social media post mocking Kamala Harris’s policy preferences and record. How is this crack down on free speech not violative of the First Amendment? Rich notes that the law will almost certainly be challenged in court.
