Let's start with the Nets. Brooklyn Nets GM. Sean Marks, issued the following statement yesterday.

Let me read this to you, and I quote,

Isn't that interesting that that's how that statement starts.

Steve Nash and I, together with Joe Sigh and Clara Wu Sigh. Let me stop right there again. Notice they're getting top

billing over the owners. Steve Nash and I, together with Joe and Clara Wu, met with

Kevin Durand and Rich Kliman in Los Angeles yesterday

we have agreed to move forward with our partnership. We are focusing on basketball with one collective goal in mind, build a

lasting franchise to bring a championship to Brooklyn." End quote.

Jim Rome is issuing a statement today. Statement reads in full,

Hell yes! I love this I love this I love this I love everything about it. I love that they're running it back and And even more importantly, I love the wording of the statement, which includes this gem of a line, and I quote, we have agreed to move

forward with our partnership.

That's an incredible line.

You can put quote move forward with our partnership, end quote,

right up there with conscious uncoupling in terms of amazing phrases that mean

next to nothing at all. These two sides are moving forward with their

partnership because they could not consciously uncouple. They tried. And even better, I mean I love everything about this.

Even better is that they slapped Durant's logo on the statement next to the Nets logo.

Like that was just going to make everything okay.
