0:00.0	Welcome to the ticket. I'm Isaac Dauver. Well, Joe Biden has once again won the
0:17.1	presidency. The Electoral College voted this week confirming his victory and
0:20.9	setting the stage for his inauguration.
0:23.0	After 60 fruitless legal challenges this past month,
0:26.0	it feels like Biden has won the presidency over and over and over.
0:31.0	But I have to say that outcome looked pretty unlikely at the beginning
0:34.4	of 2020. Despite being a popular former Vice President, Biden started the
0:38.2	primary season coming in fourth in Iowa and then fifth in New Hampshire. All that change in South Carolina though
0:44.1	leading Biden to win the Democratic nomination and eventually the presidency
0:48.0	with one endorsement. My guess this week, Congressman Jim Clyburn.
0:55.5	So when Congressman Clyburn came out and endorsed Biden three days before the vote,
0:59.3	it was seen as a turning point.
1:00.9	Biden went on to handily win the state. Now Clyburn has gone from
1:04.3	binding-maker to Biden dealmaker. As the House Majority Whip and a leader in the
1:08.7	Congressional Black Caucus, any legislation the new president wants to pass
1:12.4	will, in part, go through Clyburn.
1:15.0	I spoke with the congressman for an Atlantic Live event this week about the transition,
1:19.0	and I wanted to bring that conversation here to the ticket.
1:22.0	Does he think that Biden is keeping his promise of having the
1:24.4	most diverse cabinet ever? What does he think of the party's future with
1:28.3	progressive stars shaping how issues are framed but Biden preaching moderation
1:32.2	and a return to normalcy.
