Today we are to cover the Powder River Expedition and Red Cloud's War, which will be the last major events in Bridger's life.

We will finish up by looking at his final years and the legacy of the man. Let's get going.

It was early 1865. Bridger was 60 years old. He lived in Westport, Missouri, which is modern-day Kansas City. He had a

nice farm and home, and was a partner in various business ventures, including a trading post near his farm.

Bridger's third and final wife had died a few years earlier. His son, Felix, was in the Union Army,

and his daughter, Virginia, had recently gotten married. His other living children were still young and in school.
