Summary

Some of the richest beaver country was in the heart of territory claimed by the Blackfeet Confederacy; a tribe known to the fur trappers as Bug’s Boys, or the Sons of Satan. Needless to say there was no love lost between the American trappers and the Blackfeet, and violence became a given any time the two groups would meet with mercy rarely extended by either side. Nevertheless, the mountain men – piloted by Jim Bridger - persisted season after season, staking their fortunes and lives on Blackfeet Beaver. This is part 2 in the Jim Bridger series. 0:38.8	Per their tribal website, blackfeet nation.com, most blackfeet currently living in the United States descend from the South Pagan, who, during Bridger's time, Trapp and Beaver, would have called themselves Neat-Satapi, the people.

1:28.4	Montana. Long story short, two Blackfeet warriors were killed, and from that point forward, it seemed
1:33.8	like it was open season on American fur trappers. Weren't long before the mountaineers started
1:38.9	feeling the same way about the Blackfeet and violence became a given any time the two groups
1:43.3	would meet.
1:46.9	Mercy was rarely extended by either side.
1:53.3	That said, the idea that these hostilities were solely based on bad feelings from the Lewis and Clark expedition is an oversimplification.
