Summary

The exodus of the Israelites from Egypt conjures up images of Pharaoh, the parting of the Red Sea, and the mountain where God gave us the Ten Commandments. Maybe one day someone will make a movie out of such a fantastic story! Who would think that a couple of weekend adventurers would play such an important part in the story? Enter Jim and Penny Caldwell, a couple who spent many a vacation clandestinely exploring the Sinai desert—camera in hand. What they discovered on their journeys is the stuff of legend. Remember the split rock Moses struck to quench the thirst of perhaps a million Israelites? Or the altar of the Golden Calf? Or the Cave of Elijah? Or the actual mountain of God—Mt. Sinai? Perhaps you’ve seen some of the amazing pictures—these places have all been discovered and photographed—by the Caldwell’s! You are going to love these people and their story!

1:31.3

The place has become so utterly special to us. Literally, just as you were saying that,

1:38.3

if I picture myself there for even two seconds, a sense of reference and awe comes over May just immediately,

1:49.0

just as in the first time that we were there and Jim's knees buckled out from under him.

1:54.3

That feeling, that sensation all these years later has never left us. And even when we go back

2:00.2

and we watch our own video of the place, the video even has that

2:04.4

sense of awe and wonder about it.

2:08.3

Because the place is not open to the general public, we've had many multiple incursions

with what's called the frontier forces police there.

And this is really a desert Bedouin force.

They live out there.
