Hello, it's Laurenne, and this is Desert Island Disc's postcards, a selection of some of our most memorable moments from some of the thousands of people we've cast away to our imaginary Desert Island.

This postcard comes from the footballer Jill Scott.

We met in 2023 after she'd been part of the lionesses winning team at the Euros the previous year.

It's great that young girls today could dream of becoming a successful footballer.

But when Jill was starting out in her career, the women players had to settle for second-hand kit and miserly wages. We used to get the men's handy down, so in preseason this big black bag would arrive and it would have all the men's kit off the year before.

So you'd kind of be scummaging through this bag just trying to find someone who had your same initials.

There was this physio.

I think you must have been about 60 at the time and he was called Jockey Scott.

So it was a J and an S.

So I would find her.

But I remember there were these red, red GFardi jumpers that had gone pink

because they'd been through the wash that many times.

And we had these shorts and obviously I was quite a tall, skinny thing.
