Hey, everybody. Hi, friends. Well, from beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah. It's Thank God I'm Atheist, the podcast. I'm Frank Feldman, and I'm Dan Beecher, and coming up.

On the show today, Dan, we're going to be talking about when religious rules about rituals get a little strict.

You got to get it right, Frank. What that means. The Lord God Almighty has to approve. You have to sign it in triplicate. You have to fill out the form in triplicate. You've got to acknowledge all of the terms and conditions.

My God is a Fistidious God. That's right. That's very right. We actually have a story that we're going to be jumping off from about a priest who did something wrong and got in trouble.

Stick around for that. First though, Dan, we got some stories from around the world. Yes, indeed. Mine comes from India, where a group of lawmakers, parliament, members of parliament, are all up in arms about a Indian city's airport code.

Now, you know the airport codes. It's the little three-letter city codes, where it's SLC here in Salt Lake City.

And San Francisco's SFO. Los Angeles is LAX. All of the ones in Canada for some reason start with why I don't know.

That's a little weird. Well, anyway, they're upset because they feel like the city's code is offensive. They find it offensive.

Three letters, Dan. I want you to take a wild stab in the dark. What three letters could possibly be offensive to name.

We can't be hell because HEL is Helsinki. So I don't know.

Gay. G-A-Y. Apparently, Gaia, the city of Gaia, their airport code is G-A-Y, has been for a long time. I'm sure.

But these members of parliament are all upset and they are trying to do everything they can to get the city code changed.

That is amazing. I just think if that city had any smarts at all, they would become a gay, just like a tourist mecca.

They already are a tourist mecca. This is where supposedly where the Buddha gained enlightenment in Gaia.

Oh, okay. Right. And it has many other sacred religious sites and receives thousands of pilgrims every year from the Hindu faith, Jain and Buddhist faiths.

Yeah. So they don't need something to bring people into the area.

And the fuss is all about that somehow this is insulting to the people of this holy city.

That could be worse than being gay, Frank.

No, the locals, you know, possibly might find it offensive or embarrassing.

So according to these parliamentary committee members, they've petitioned the international, what is it called?

The International Air Transport Association who determines the three-letter codes.

Right. They are the ones who come up with the code and then that's that.
