I just wanted to go back and read the perspective of the places that Steve Wilkes was at,

you know, some of these places, some of these teams,

these jobs and what the media was saying when he left there. So I went back to the year that

he spent in Missouri as the defensive coordinator for the Missouri Tigers. What year was that?

2021. All right. So a couple years ago.

Recent, yep.

All right.

In his lone season in charge of the defense, the Tigers struggled greatly in Wilkes 425 defensive system, particularly against the run of Missouri's 13 opponents.

Seven of them rushed for over 200 yards.

In-state opponent, southeast Missouri, even

racked up 294 yards on the ground. In an October game at home against Tennessee, the

Tigers' defense hit rock bottom. The defense yielded nearly 700 yards of total offense,

458 rushing yards, and a 62 to 24 blowout loss.

Despite calls by many for the in-season firing of Wilkes, he was retained.
