And I have just started coming to the studio again via Pacific Coast Highway. Now, I used to do that all the time where I'm located in the portion of

Los Angeles, Ventura County, where I could take the 101 out of

Conejo Valley where I'm at, up over the grade there, Calabasas. That's where Kobe went down,

and then into the valley, and then through this at Pululveda Pass, and that's all that crazy traffic.

And I like going through the Malibu Pass and taking that little squirly road that looks fun and drops me off at Malibu, and then I take the coast.

And about three months ago now, as I was coming to the studio, the fire,

I should say the smoke was beginning to billow from Pacific Palisades. And I thought,

uh-oh, I could see it, just driving along there, almost to Santa Monica. I looked over the ridge

and there the smoke was coming up.

And, of course, that was the beginning of one of the biggest conflagrations that Southern California,

certainly the Los Angeles area has ever experienced. And it was bad. And remains that way because

very little rebuilding has been done. But that route is now open. And so the last two weeks,

I've been able to travel that route. Now it's 25 miles an hour all along that route. So it's

slower in a certain way, but it's faster than taking the rush hour freeway north through the

subpolda Pass and then one-on-one west

to my area. Instead, I just backtrack like I've done in the past. And it's, at 25 miles an hour,

it's kind of nice because everybody's going slow. Nobody's trying to get anywhere fast,

and so it's relaxing.

Even though it's slow, it's continuously slow.
