I invite you all to take your Bible or a Bible from underneath the pew in front of you and turn with me to Hebrews chapter 3

verses 1 to 6 and we're going to pick up where we left off about five weeks ago and press on with

our attempt to understand this great book of Hebrews and let God speak to us through it.

And we are at chapter 3 now, and today we're going to look at verses 1 through 6 under the title,

Jesus worthy of more glory than Moses.

Hebrew chapter three verses one. Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling consider Jesus,

the apostle and high priest of our confession.

He is faithful to him who appointed him as Moses also was in all his house.

For he has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses

by just so much as the builder of the house has more honor than the house.

For every house is built by someone,

but the builder of all things is God.

Now Moses was faithful in all his house as a servant

for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken later, but Christ was faithful

as a son over his house, whose house we are if we hold fast our confidence and the boast of our hope firm

until the end.

Father in heaven I pray now that you'd help me to speak the truth

concerning this text and to apply it to the hearts and minds of your people.

And I pray for those here who love your word and trust it

that you would open them and empower them and bless them and purify them and

heal them and strengthen them and delight them in this truth and for those who do not trust your word and are not sure

at all that they believe what is being spoken in this hour, I simply ask that you would work so as to open them to truth
