Summary

Weekend Scripture: John 4

This week, Lydia invites us to listen in on a conversation and answer one simple question: Who is Jesus? In this week's passage, Jesus meets the Samaritan woman at the well and invites her to drink the living water He has to offer. We all thirst for something, though we don't always look to Jesus to quench our thirst. He invites us to stop drinking out of saltwater wells, and instead come to Him to drink living water, the "spring of water welling up to eternal life." Only Jesus can quench your thirst. Will you let Him?

I gotta tell ya, I find it amusing when people say that they don't like drama, that they're the type to stay out of it, that they mind their own business, but then when the people behind them at the booth at Chili start arguing, they go, because pretty soon it's a little bit interesting to mind somebody else's business.

And all of a sudden, you're shush and your husband so you can hear what Linda's mother-in-law said about the dress her daughter wore to the prom. Or maybe that's not you. In general, you shouldn't eavesdrop.

But today, I'd like to invite you to it.

Today I want you to turn in your Bibles to John chapter 4, verses 1 through 45.

That's our key scripture today.

And our key word, as it has been, is Jesus.

It's a good one.

And today, we're going to eavesdrop on a conversation between two people in a

when the sun beats down on your scalp and the heat sticks to you and makes you tired. Jesus and his disciples had been journeying

But sociopolitically, it was the wrong way. Most devout Jews didn't travel this route because traveling
