And today's story is a whopper. Is it ever, Todd?

Today's story recounts just one day in the life of Jesus and the disciples.

And in the course of those 24 hours, we see murder, miracles, and one of the most well-known

moments in Jesus' ministry.

So let's stop chatting about it and let's start being about it.

With scene number one, this scene is called Lil Herod's Big Day.

Some days are just more memorable than others, and this will be a memorable day.

Terrible news has just reached Jesus.

His relative John the Baptist has been murdered.

Here's what had happened. Mary and Joseph had to flee to Egypt when Jesus was just a baby.

You remember that, Todd. Herod the Great was killing all the baby boys in Bethlehem,

and he was trying to eliminate any kind of threat because a king was supposed to come from

Bethlehem, and that might

threaten his power. So the most rational thing to do is to slaughter all the children in the town.

Correct.

So that guy, Herod the Great, he eventually had a son, and his name is Herod Antipus.

This Herod, and we'll call him Lil Herod, like Lil Deby, Lil Wayne, and Lil Kim.

This Herod, Lil Herod, was also a ruler.

He governed about 25% of Palestine.

Lil Herod had bad blood with John the Baptist because of a particularly sticky situation that
