Light is come into the world. John tells us in the third chapter of John.

What does it mean to call Jesus, our light?

Look at chapter 1 as Adrian Rogers begins part one of Jesus, the light of the world.

I want to tell you an interesting story,

and really a very sad story, back in World War II in the North Atlantic. There was an aircraft carrier that was in danger from enemy submarines, and they sent out five of their finest airplanes

with five of their finest pilots

to scout out and to see if they could spot the enemy submarines.

It was at nighttime.

The captain of that aircraft carrier realized he was in grave danger

and gave this commandant.

He said, every light on this ship is to be extinguished.

There is to be a total blackout.

Those five pilots that had gone out to Recon and Loiter to try to find those enemy submarines

finally came back and they radioed to that aircraft carrier.
