My given name is Anthony Tyrone Evans.

That's the name my parents gave me. Most people know my name as Tony Evans. Tony

Evans is my personal identity, doctor is a title, and pastor is a role or responsibility.

Jesus's human name was Jesus, Savior or Deliverer. So when Jesus's name was

referenced it was a reference to one whose role it was and is to rescue or deliver people out of something, predominantly

sin, but he also spent his three years of ministry delivering people out of circumstances, whether it's trouble or disease or demonic oppression.

He was in the rescuing business which was consistent with his name.

The title in his name is Lord.

Lord Jesus gives the title to the name Jesus.

Our focus today is on Christ.

Now that's not his last name.

That is his role or office name. The word Christ is the Greek translation of the Hebrew word for Messiah.
