We ended last week in Exodus 15.

And again, I'm teaching on the healing ministry of Jesus in the Old Testament.

I actually asked a question last week, and prior to the last week, the week before,

I taught on the methods of healing in the ministry of Jesus and Paul in the New Testament.

One of the truths that I wanted us to gather was that Jesus did not just arrive in the book of

Matthew.

This is really important if you're going to be a solid Bible-believing Christian,

because when you see it this way, his incarnation strikes wonder within you.

The incarnation itself is like, it blows your mind and without the backdrop of the pre-incarnate

lord revealing himself in the old testament which by the way the early church did not call those passages, the Old Testament,

those books, they just called them the scriptures.

I think sometimes our language devalues things without even intentionally doing it.

Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15 that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures

that he was raised according to the scriptures and this tells us the 1st Corinthians 15 is

one of the oldest writings in the in the New Testament this tells us how deeply the early church valued

Genesis through Malachi. In fact, in most liturgies, the most quoted, actually in all,

the most quoted book in the Bible is the book of Psalms.

And when they read scripture, and by the way, in liturgies,

how many of you grew up in a church where there were liturgies?
