As children of God, we have been given a new home and a new hope.

In this week of verse 15, we're going to take time every day to look at what it means to live for heaven.

May your heart be set aflame by the joy and purpose of living out God's command

to live for heaven this week. Welcome to the First 15 podcast. Our scripture for today comes from Hebrews 12 verses 1 and 2.

Scripture says,

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses,

let us also lay aside every weight and sin,

which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race

that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfector of our faith, who for the joy

that was set before him endured the cross,

despising the shame,

and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Of all the wonders our Creator provides,

boundless and unadulterated relationship with Jesus

vastly exceeds them all.

Jesus is the best thing we will ever know.

His love restores, satisfies, transforms, and heals.

His grace empowers and brings transcendent peace.

His nearness resolves the great fears of our hearts.

And his kingship calls us to a right lifestyle of living for heaven

rather than a pursuit of that which is worldly and fleeting.
