Hey everyone, in today's Rebuttal video, I'm going to look at a classic work in conspiracy

theory thinking, and that would be the 2007 film Zike Guys created by Peter Joseph.

Now, the film covers different conspiracy theories, things like 9-11, denialism, new world

order.

The part of it that I'm interested in discussing today, though, is the part that says that Jesus

never existed, that he had no historical existence, and that he was a rip off of older pagan

mythological deities, that he's actually a part of astrological worship.

Now, some of you might be thinking, come on, Trent, this is low-hanging fruit.

And in one sense, it is, and this is something I kind of struggle with when I'm doing

the struggles, that when I choose to rebut anti-Catholic arguments, there's kind of

an inverted relationship between the strength of the argument and how popular it is.

So arguments that tend to be very popular with lots of people tend to be not as strong,

because people just gravitate towards them because they sound good.

But the arguments that are very good, that are well thought out, that are very critical,

not as many people are as interested in them because maybe they can't wrap their heads

around the arguments as easily.

So I'm trying to balance here on the council of Trent what I'm choosing to rebut.

I'm really trying to find a balance between rebutting the most popular misconceptions and

arguments, and what I would consider to be the best arguments against the faith.

So I'm always trying to find a balance here.
