This is the greatest hour to follow Jesus.

All right, let's get into the Word of God.

So we're going to start at Luke 22.

And I'm going to start in verse 20.

And I'm going to talk about how Jesus is longing to be loved.

It's something that I think we know.

We say a lot about that here. but I really think it's important,

church, that we understand why we say what we say. Because if not, they'll just be words and

we'll just say it because we've heard others say it, but we won't really understand why is it

that loving Jesus really is everything? Why is it that loving Jesus is all that you need? Why is it that loving him is

enough? Well, I'm going to go through the scriptures with you today so you understand why he wants it.

You go, what do you mean, Jess? He wants your love. It's the most beautiful thing in the world to think

that Jesus, the king of kings, wants to be loved by you, and that you can move his heart,

and you can be in his presence.

Who else can, what other king can be moved by the heart of their people by Jesus?

He's so faithful.

But I want you to see for a moment what human nature is like.

And let's go to this passage together, Luke 22, 20 through 24.

It says, after supper, he took another cup of wine and said,

this cup is the new covenant between God and his people.

An agreement confirmed with my blood, which is poured out as a sacrifice for you.

Listen, but here at this table sitting among us as a friend is the man who will betray me.
