today's devotional is titled step up and declare the verses Matthew 16 15 through 16 and it says

this he said to them but who do you say that I am Simon Peter answered and said you are the

Christ the son of the living God one of the love languages is called words of affirmation to affirm

something means to state that it is true that is my number one love language sometimes in

your relationship with Jesus you need to affirm some things why because the enemy is going to want

to steal your truths from you he wants to make you wonder and doubt and question think about Peter

when he was with Jesus at the breakfast on the beach three times Jesus asked Peter if he loved

and three times Peter said yes Lord you know that I love you now Jesus knows everything that is

in our hearts so he knew that Peter loved him why all the questions then because Peter needed

to say it out loud Peter needed to hear himself say the words Peter needed to affirm the truth

of his relationship with Jesus so do we today I want to affirm your relationship with Jesus so that

you don't question it anymore so that you don't search for what only he can give you or what he's

already given you like his love think about your past for a moment about those things you wish

you'd never done that still hang over your head confess them and let him redeem them forgive them

and wash them away his grace is so huge and so good there's no shame except his love and forgiveness

and now let's affirm some things I'm going to ask you the question that Jesus asked Peter

and each time I want you to answer out loud here your words of affirmation do you love me

yes Lord I love you do you love me say it with me yes Lord I love you do you love me yes Lord I love

you whether you're just getting to know Jesus or you've been a Christian your whole life
