But we're gonna read Hebrew chapter one

verses one to four again and we will take verse four today which is the next verse

in order from this series that we're in and I have had such a great time in Hebrews that I just

sense the Lord doesn't want me to quit in the book of Hebrews yet anyway so I gave to Greg two more sermons for when I get back

on the into chapter two and we'll just see how long this series should keep going but

as long as the Lord keeps firing me up to love what is

said here I will assume that that's his word for you too. What we'll do is

we'll read verses one to four and then we'll unpack the remainder of the chapter along with it because all of chapter 1 versus 5 to 14 is exposition of verse 4.

Hebrew 1 1.

God after he spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days have spoken to us in his son,

whom he appointed heir of all things and through whom he made the world.

He is the radiance of his glory and the exact representation

of his nature and upholds all things by the word of his power. When he had made purification of sins he sat down at the right hand of the

majesty on high, having become as much better than angels as he has inherited a more excellent name than they.

Father, I ask that you would help me now to unfold these truths in a way that will hit home

and that you by your spirit would open hearts and minds and that we would see Christ.

Christ would you stand forth from your word and reveal your glory in these words I pray?

In your name, I ask it, amen. Thinking about angels had evidently become really skewed in the churches to whom this book is written.

Something's gone haywire in the way they think about angels.

Otherwise I cannot account for why.
